Traveling without Gluten
I wanted to tell everyone about the last trip I took. I was a little nervous because the last ski trip I took left me in the room for part of the trip (attached to the bathroom) and afraid to get on the slope. One of the things we did was to stay in a condo instead of a hotel room. So we were able to prepare our own food. I figured out how many meals I would need cereal and took the cereal in baggies. I even made myself some bread before I went. I also took snacks. We didn’t fly so I was able to take more snacks. However even if we had flown I would have put snacks in my suitcase. We only ate out a few times but I just ordered everything grilled and mild vegetables. I did great ~ no problems. It was wonderful not to have to worry about racing to the potty. We went to a grocery store there in Angel Fire and it had a few items that were gluten free. I also bought things like fruit and applesauce, I found some broth that did not have wheat in it and made rice. It is worth the hassle to plan ahead and stash your suitcase with snacks that you can eat. It wasn’t hard at all, just took a little planning. Funny thing ~ coming home I wasn’t the one that made us stop in every town to search for a potty.
